Baseball Crafts: DIY Serving Tray

One of the biggest things we’ve missed over the last few months has definitely been watching sports. In anticipation of baseball season restarting we’re sharing this fun baseball craft: a DIY serving tray.

Baseball Themed Serving Tray

For many, getting together with friends to watch a baseball game is always a favorite way to spend a weekend afternoon. Putting out some simple snacks and drinks is a great way to enjoy our time together with neighbors and friends.

Serving trays are one of my favorite ways to put a bunch of items together and serve them in the living room. From our wood slice and resin serving tray to this faux mosaic one they’re also projects to make.

To celebrate the upcoming baseball season we made this baseball inspired serving tray using simply a wood circle and some hardware.

A Few Tips To Get You Started

  • Protect work surface with sheet of newspaper.
  • Allow paint to fully dry between steps and when changing to a new color.
  • Repeat with as many coats as needed to achieve desired coverage.

How to Make a Baseball Inspired DIY Serving Tray

Paint all surfaces of the wood circle in Cotton Ball white.

Painting the wooden plaque with white paint.

Using a pencil, faintly draw two half circles on either side of the painted circle.

Using black paint to darken the two half circles on either side of the painted piece of wood.

Dip the back end of the paintbrush in Black Tie and dab small dots along the thin black half circles.

Using a fine tip paint brush, paint V’s along the line connecting the dots in Lipstick red.

Mark placement for handles with a pencil.
