Have you seen the words “free printable” before? I must confess, although it may seem straightforward, I didn’t REALLY know what that meant before, or more specifically, why I would even want one. A printable is basically any template, pattern, design that you can download and print on your own printer. There are so many creative people out there who have designed prints for any mood you’re in or decor theme you’re looking for. Moreover, you can find printables for organization tools, kids birthday party themes, tags and labels and art just to name a few.
We are happy to share with you the recent release our own nature-inspired printable art. By nature inspired we mean that each design was created from photos that we took of nature. From flowers, tree bark, leaves, grass, sand and rocks, nothing is safe from our roving camera! We have three designs that we’ve released in our Etsy shop including the “Here Comes the Bird” set, the “Rock’n Daisy Cupcake” set, and the “Bloom’n Bark Ice Cream” set. And we’re so happy to provide our readers our exclusive “Summer Sky Sun Shades” mini-set for free. You can download both the full-page print and the fun invitation.
To get you inspired as to how you could use your new printable art, we’ve put together five fun and practical ideas to get started.
Original art is more accessible than ever. There are so many options online for free or inexpensive printable digital art that having new pieces on your walls doesn’t have to be a huge financial investment. Depending on the size of the image you are looking for, you can find the perfect image to match your decor, pair it with a fun frame and you’re set!
Planning to give someone a gift card? Well what better way to add a special touch to a somewhat impersonal gift than by making a DIY gift box using a fun and colourful (or gift themed) print.
Buying cards at the store can be expensive so a great way to save a few dollars is to use a fabulous print as a greeting card. There are so many to choose from so making a greeting card for any occasion is so easy! Simply print off your chosen art on a thicker sheet of paper; cardstock for example, and cut along the outer card edges. Create a crease line along the center and fold.
Colouring pages for adults are very popular now. We also love keeping kids busy colouring these fun summer inspired printables in black and white. And why not turn these coloured sheets into kid’s framed art, gift boxes or greeting cards (but best to use a cardstock when printing).
Souped-Up School Supplies
Creating a DIY notebook cover or a crayon box cozie as shown in our recent post using playful printables are two ways to add some fun to your kids’ school supplies while keeping the costs low. And best of all you can engage your kids in this craft!
