Clothespin Crafts for Halloween
Have fun making these clothespin crafts for Halloween using our free SVG cutting file.
Ingredients
- Halloween SVG bat, witch's hat, ghost and pumpkin
- Cricut Maker or other Cricut cutting machine with Fine Point Blade
- Cricut Standard Grip Mat
- Cardstock paper in dark purple, green, orange, black, white and grey
- Wooden clothespins x4
- Scissors
- Glue stick or clear drying craft glue
- DecoArt Americana Acrylics in Bright Orange, Festive Green, Lamp (Ebony) Black, White Wash
- Paintbrush
Instructions
Preparing the Clothespins
- Paint each of the clothespins in a different color: green for the witch’s hat clothespin; black for the bat clothespin; white for the ghost clothespin; and orange for the pumpkin clothespin.
Uploading the Halloween SVG File
- Open Cricut Design Space.
- Click on the “+” sign to start a new project, opening up a blank canvas.
- Click on the Upload button from the toolbar to insert the downloaded Halloween SVG file onto the canvas.
Cutting
- With the machine set to Cricut Maker, select “Make It” in Design Space.
- Place the first paper color onto the standard grip mat.
- Follow prompts for loading cardstock paper into Cricut Maker and cutting. When the cut is complete, unload the mat from the machine.
- Remove the cut pieces from the cutting mat.
- Repeat for the remaining Halloween pieces and papers.
Assembling the Halloween Clothespins
- Layer the cut pieces starting with the bottom layer working upward.
- Apply a dab of glue to the tops of the painted clothespins and press the assembled Halloween piece (in the coordinating colors) to the clothespin. Allow glue to dry before using.
