  • Assorted colorful felt flowers and leaves
  • Felt colors
  • Large Open back picture frame size 14” x 17”
  • Americana Decor Chalky Finish in Everlasting
  • Paintbrush
  • Chicken wire cut to size of photo frame
  • Gloves
  • Staple gun
  • Hot glue gun and clear glue sticks

Instructions

Preparing the Chicken Wire

  • Measure the size of the picture frame, length x width.
  • Using a pair of safety gloves and wire cutters, cut the chicken wire to the size measured.

Preparing the Open Back Frame

  • Using a medium sized paintbrush, apply a coat of paint over the surface of the frame.
  • Once fully dry, place the painted picture frame face down on a flat surface.
  • While wearing safety gloves, place the chicken wire on the back side of the frame, holding it securely in place. With your other hand staple the wire in place along all four sides. Pull the wire taught across to ensure it lays flat.

Assembling the Felt Flowers

  • Refer to our felt flower pattern guide for pattern template and assembly instructions.
  • Use a mix of colorful coordinating felt sheets when making your felt flowers.

Attaching the Felt Flowers

  • Preheat a hot glue gun.
  • Practice the placement of the felt flowers and leaves around the picture frame until you are happy with the placement.
  • Working on flower and leaf at a time, begin glueing the felt flower in place directly to the frame.
  • Continue until all flowers are securely attached.
  • Hang your favourite photos or cards using a clothespin to enjoy.
