Mason Jar Painting for Canada Day

Show your patriotic spirit by painting a set of Bernardin glass jars for Canada Day with this fun tutorial for a red and white set of utensil utensils. These colorful mason jars are perfect for your long weekend celebrations, picnics and BBQ's.

Ingredients
  

  • 250 ml Set of 3 decorative Bernardin glass jars with lids
  • Chalky paint in red and white we used Americana Decor Chalky Finish in Romance and Everlasting
  • Paintbrush medium flat and fine tip
  • White paint pen
  • Maple Leaf printout size 3” high
  • Pencil

Instructions
 

  • Using a medium sized paintbrush, apply chalky paint in red over the surface of one jar. Paint the other two jars in white chalky paint.
  • On the red jar, use the white paint pen to draw a small maple leaf in the center. Add swirls and polk-a-dots around the leaf to resemble fireworks. Repeat with the same design around the jar.
  • On one white jar, paint to wide horizontal stripes around the jar at the top and bottom in red chalky paint.
  • On the second white jar, place the maple leaf cutout on to the jar and trace the outline in pencil. Using a fine tip paintbrush, paint the maple leaf in red chalky paint.
  • Allow paint to dry fully.
  • Remove sealing discs and attach snap lids to all painted jars.
  • Fill the jars with paper straws and plastic cutlery for a Canada Day picnic.
