How to Paint Buffalo Plaid Pattern
Sharing the step by step tutorial for painting buffalo plaid on a flat surface.
Ingredients
- Picture Frame
- 5x7 Painting Canvas
- Paint - Colours Optional We used DecoArt Americana Chalky Paint in Everlasting and Carbon
- Paint Brushes
- Painters Tape
- Hot Glue Gun
- Cricut Joy with printable peel and stick stock
- Preserved Leaves/Flowers
Instructions
- Remove the backing and glass from the picture frame.
- Using painters tape, tape off evenly spaced horizontal stripes onto a small canvas.
- Mix black and white paint to create a grey colour and paint the exposed rows of the canvas. Let the paint dry.
- Remove the painters tape and tape off evenly spaced columns on the canvas.
- Paint the exposed columns with the same gray paint. Let dry.
- Put back the rows of painters tape you previously removed, in the same spaces as before.
- Paint the exposed squares with black paint. Let dry and then remove the tape to reveal the buffalo plaid design.
- Using the Circut Joy, print out your own personalized fall message on adhesive vinyl.
- Apply the fall message to the buffalo check.
- Place the canvas into the frame.
- Using a hot glue gun, glue preserved leaves and flowers to the frame.
