Using a drill with a bit the size of the dowel/skewer, drill a hole in the end of the pine cone where the stem is.

Next, paint the pine cones and let them dry completely.

Apply a generous amount of glue to the dowel/skewer and place the dowel/skewer into the hole in the pine cone.

Take some ribbon and curl it and place it in the vase.

Add the pine cones on the dowels/skewers in the vase.

Add some greenery to the vase and add a “Happy New Year” sign.
