Dollar Tree Paddle Sign for Valentine’s
With a bit of creativity and a few Valentine’s touches, Dollar Tree paddle boards become the perfect canvas for heartfelt DIY decor.
Ingredients
- Mini cutting board
- Chalky paint in black and white
- Metallic paint in gold and pink
- Paintbrushes
- Petroleum jelly
- Mini wood heart cut outs
- Ribbon
- Hot glue
Instructions
Distressing the Cutting Board
- Apply a thin layer of Vaseline on the areas of the cutting board where you want the distressing to occur. Then apply a top coat of black paint over the entire board and let dry.
- Add another layer of Vaseline over the black paint.
- Next, paint over the black paint with white and let dry.
- Take a paper towel or clean cloth and start wiping off the spots where the Vaseline was used.
Making the Sign
- Paint the wooden embellishments with pink and gold metallic paint and let dry.
- Make a messy bow using ribbon.
- Glue the bow, hearts and any other embellishments onto the cutting board.
