Materials Needed

  • wine glass (we got ours at the Thrift store)
  • hot glue gun
  • scissors
  • cardboard in white (circle cutout for the base)
  • decorative beaded ribbon
  • small bottle brushes
  • decorative figurines (sleigh, horse, lamp, etc)
  • 2-3″high candle and faux berries for topping the wine glass

How to Make Christmas Wine Glass Craft

Build the Winter Scene

On a piece of cardboard cut to the size of the wine glass rim, begin to assemble the winter scene. Place the bottle brushes and other figurines on top of the cutout and glue in place when you’re satisfied with the placement.

It’s best to use a white colored cardboard cutout so it looks like snow covered ground in the winter scene. If you don’t have white cardboard, simply give it a coat of white paint.

Attach the Glass to the Base

Insert the winter scene in to the wine glass and glue the edge of the cardboard cutout to the rim of the wine glass with a hot glue gun. Hold in place until the glue sets.

Decorate the Stem & Base

To finish off the edges of the base, glue a strand of ribbon around the rim.

Add ribbon, twine, or a small bow around the stem for a festive finish. Optional: place a battery-operated tea light on top of the base for a gentle glow.

Turn the wine glass over and display your finished Christmas wine glass craft for all to admire!

Size & Colour Options

Large glasses make great centrepiece displays, while smaller ones work well as individual place settings. Traditional colours like red, gold, and green always look festive, but navy and silver or blush and white are lovely options if you prefer a modern Christmas palette. Using battery-operated tea lights inside the glass gives a warm glow without heat.

How to Display / Style Your Project

Christmas wine glass crafts work beautifully on a mantel arranged with faux snow and greenery for a cosy home décor idea. You can also line them down the dining table as glowing centrepieces for Christmas dinner, using LED candles for a warm and safe effect.

Another sweet option is gifting them as custom wine glass decorations bundled with a small bottle of festive wine—perfect as a handmade gift décor idea.
