How to Make a Beach Cover Up

DOUBLE turn ALL unfinished edges of MAIN (1) piece towards WRONG side and top-stitch with a 1/4” hem allowance. 

Cutting excess fabric from the seam.

At the single circle at FRONT hem, attach button with hand sewing, one button on each side. If needed, reinforce the button placement with a square fabric scrap placed on the WRONG side.

Next, fold and press with iron long edges of BUTTON LOOP (2) piece towards wrong side by 1/4”. Fold BUTTON LOOP piece in half, aligning folded edges together and stitch along the edge.

Fold BUTTON LOOP in half to form the actual loop and stay-stitch the raw edges together.  

At the single circles at BACK hem, position the folded BUTTON LOOP (2) piece with looped end overlapping the side and stitch in place securing loops to cover up.

To complete, fold MAIN (1) piece in half LENGTHWISE with WRONG sides together and fasten the button loop over the button to secure the sides together.
