Getting Creative with Wine Glass DIY Crafts

We love to add coastal decor to our home and instantly fell in love with these beachy wine glass candle holders. But one of the great things about this project is you don’t have to go with a coastal theme if that is not your style. Experiment with other ideas for fall, Halloween or Christmas. Wouldn’t tiny pumpkins or ghosts look adorable in this wine glass? And use colored sand to really make it pop!

Why not make a snow globe for winter with little snowmen and poly-fil to mimic snow? The possibilities are really endless! In fact, we even made a wine glass garden terrarium using dried flowers.

How to Make Beachy Wine Glass Candle Holders

I shared the tutorial on how to make this beautiful beachy wine glass craft on a Facebook live which you can catch here. Or if you prefer the photo tutorial, continue reading below.

Trace the wine glass rim onto a piece of heavy cardboard. Use a utility knife to cut it out.

Add seashells, sand or even glass beads to your wine glass. We found a piece of driftwood in our craft stash and added that to the wine glass too.

Have fun with it and add whatever elements you have in your craft closet.

Be sure to put the lighter items like the shells in first, then add the sand. The shells will lift to the top when you flip the glass over.

Place hot glue around the cardboard disc, then secure it to the rim of the wine glass. Press firmly so it is nice and secure.

Flip the glass over and shake it until you are happy with the placement of the seashells. Next, you want to glue a piece of twine to cover the cardboard.

Final Touches to the Beachy Wine Glass Craft

Finish it off by placing a votive candle on top of the glass. For an extra bit of texture, glue twine around the candle.
