Hi creative friends! We’re sharing this recent craft of a dried flowers art piece we made using a thrift store picture frame, some simple decoupage and lovely dried florals. We hope you find some inspiration in this craft idea.

Creating Art with Dried Flowers
As we started to preserve fresh flowers from our mom’s flower garden last year, we found ourselves a little hooked on the process. Experimenting with the different types of flowers by placing them in silica crystals to fully dry for use in future crafts was so much fun! To learn more about how to do this, you can check out this post here.
This art piece is just one of the projects we’ve made with our preserved flowers. We wanted it to look like a vase full of flowers so we used a few flat pieces of driftwood with the floral stems sticking out at the top. All of this was mounted on an inexpensive thrift store picture frame with the glass insert removed. To find out how to make this craft, keep reading below.

How to Make Art with Beautiful Dried Flowers
I shared the tutorial for making this dried flowers art on a recent Facebook Live which you can catch here.
Preparing the Picture Frame
Using white paint, paint the picture frame and let it dry completely.
In the meantime, apply the decoupage glue and set the paper on to the picture frame backing and let it dry.
Asembling the Dried Flowers
Using a hot glue gun, glue some driftwood pieces to create a ‘vase’ on the picture frame.
Next, take the dried flowers and start gluing them on the decoupage backing just above the driftwood vase.

Add as many or as few dried flowers as you like until you’re happy with the look of your art piece!
