How to Make an Easter Egg Topiary Craft
Paint the terra cotta pot with a dry brush in white chalky paint and let it dry.

Paint the plastic egg in white chalky paint and let it dry.

Separate the napkin to one ply and cut around the designs on the napkin so there are smaller shaped cutouts to work with.

Apply a coat of Mod Podge on to the painted egg and press the paper cutouts on to the egg gently. Leave it to dry.

Place a piece of floral foam into the terra cotta pot and ensure that it is flush with the top of the pot.
Place the dowel into the floral foam and glue the floral foam to the terra cotta pot.
Take some crafting moss and glue it to cover the floral foam.

Insert the other end of the dowel to the bottom of the decoupaged egg.

Take some ribbon and create a bow and glue it to the dowel and a button just below the Easter egg.

Tips, Variations & Troubleshooting
Colour & Style Variations
Pastels create a classic Easter look, but bright eggs give a fun, modern feel. Neutral eggs with greenery work well for farmhouse or minimalist homes. You can also mix patterns like speckles, florals, or stripes for extra character.
Size Options
Small topiaries are great for shelves or tiered trays. Larger versions work nicely for entryways or fireplace hearths. Adjust the foam base and container size to scale the project up or down.
Common Fixes
If eggs feel loose, add extra hot glue and hold them in place a few seconds longer. Wobbly bases usually need more weight in the pot, like stones or sand hidden under moss.

How to Display / Style Your Project
Place your Easter egg topiary on a mantel alongside spring florals for an easy seasonal refresh. It also looks charming as a table centrepiece paired with candles or a simple runner. For gifting, tuck it into a basket with a ribbon and a tag for a thoughtful handmade touch.
