Coffee Filter Angels for a Beautiful Christmas

If you are nervous about DIY crafts, do not let this one scare you! I think the hardest part of the craft is truly separating the coffee filters themselves! After that, this craft is pretty straightforward.

One of our favorite parts about this craft is how elegant it is. I never thought coffee filters could be considered beautiful, but anything white at Christmas time adds a touch of classy decor to wherever your decorations are. If you have other white ornaments, these angel ornaments bring a bit of peace and calm to the rest of the decorations.

Separate six coffee filters.

Fold three filters into quarters and cut a hole in them at the center point.

Folding coffee filters.

Cut a length of 20 – 24 inches of twine and tie one end with a double knot.

Next thread the twine through the first filter and apply some glue to hold the twine.

Adding hot glue to a knotted piece of twine.

Then tie another double knot and glue the twine. Thread the twine through another coffee filter layer.

Repeat this for last filter.

Next, thread a wooden bead through the twine and then tie off the remaining twine into a large loop. The excess twine can then be used for the angel’s hair.

Take a white pipe cleaner and fold it in half to create the arms for the angel.

Next take a coffee filter and fold it into quarters and cut the filter so that it will form the sleeves of the angel.

Glue the pipe cleaner to one side of the quartered filter and wrap the filter around the pipe cleaner, gluing each time.

Then take the pipe cleaner with the glued filters and glue it around the body of the angel and apply some glue.

To create the wings, fold two of the filters into quarters and then glue them onto the back of the angel with the folded edge facing upwards.

To create hands, use smaller sized wooden beads and slide them over the pipe cleaner and glue the ends.
