- Faux flowers
- Wooden dowel or skewer
- Decorative embellishments

How to Make an Easy Valentine’s Day Centerpiece with Dollar Tree Vase
Apply a coat of red paint to the wood heart cutout. Let the paint dry.

Next, apply a coat of Mod Podge over the painted heart and press a piece of lace over top. Once it dries, trim away the excess lace.

Secure the heart onto a dowel or skewer.

Add some floral foam into the vase and begin layering in the accessories – starting with the largest and tallest pieces in the back and finishing up with the smaller pieces in the front.

Tips &Variations
Colour Options
Red and pink are classic, though neutrals look surprisingly good for Valentine’s Day. White flowers with a touch of gold ribbon feel understated and grown-up. Black accents paired with blush give a modern edge. If your home already leans farmhouse, burlap ribbon and muted florals will blend right in.
Keeping Everything Stable
If your arrangement feels top-heavy, add weight at the base. Small stones, marbles, or even uncooked rice hidden under filler will help. When using faux stems, cut them slightly shorter than you think you need. A lower centre of gravity makes a big difference.
Hot glue works well for securing ribbon and decorative picks, though floral foam is better for arranging stems cleanly.

How to Display / Style Your Project
This Valentine’s Day centerpiece fits easily into everyday spaces without screaming “seasonal.”
- Dining table centrepiece: Keep the height low so it doesn’t block conversation. Pair with simple place settings and neutral linens.
- Entryway or console table: A single vase with soft florals creates a welcoming home décor idea without clutter.
- Gift décor idea: Wrap the base in tissue, tie with ribbon, and gift it as-is. It works well for neighbours, teachers, or friends hosting dinner.
A Special Feeling
This easy Valentine’s Day centerpiece with a Dollar Tree vase proves that you don’t need expensive materials or complicated steps to make something that feels special.
It’s quick, flexible, and easy to tweak with what you already have on hand. If you end up making one, you’ll probably find yourself reusing the same idea with new colours for other holidays too.
