Looking for a creative upcycling craft to make using an old hardcover book? Well if so, you’ll likely enjoy this lovely English garden-inspired craft idea that has now become a unique piece of art on display.
Crafting with Old Books
Having made a few other projects over the years using old books such as this Halloween decor and these birch bark painted decorative books; we are big fans of upcycled book crafts. This latest project turned out even better than I imagined during a recent Facebook Live video. Everything from the intricate wisteria made from tissue paper and a distressed painted wooden door seemed to come together almost instinctively.

How to Make an Upcycled Book Craft
Check out our Facebook Live video with the detailed step-by-step instructions, we’ve added some images of the process below.
Start by preparing the paper to cover the surface of the book.
Next, paint the wooden door in any color of your chooing. I used a bright bahama blue color which next to the deep red tones of the brick pattern paper really pops!
Glue the sticks, faux greenery and paper wisteria in a large arch shape on the book cover, leaving enough room for the wooden door.
With the pieces all assembled it looks just like a little secret garden in the English country side, don’t you think?
