Looking through all of these creative upcycling projects has given me the spark I needed to create and craft my own garden decor. With Spring just around the corner, I’m considering all the ways to upcycle and repurpose items I no longer need or want.

Where to Find Items to Upcycle for your Garden

There are several options for places to look for finding items to upcycle into garden decor:

Your own home. Anytime you feel the urge to declutter or Spring clean, consider pieces that could work in the garden. Ideally, items tat are made from wood and metal work the best. Additionally, if you’re planning to renovate your home, the pieces you would otherwise toss as junk could also be reused and reurposed for outdoors.
Neighbourhood garage sales and curbside finds. One person’s trash is another person’s treasure. It feels so good to save a piece that no one else wants into something lovely and useful. We’ve found everything from photo frames to wrought-iron furniture at the curb.
Facebook Marketplace/Freecycle. To find inexpensive or even free items, look no further than an online marketplace where people are discarding unwanted items.
Thrift Stores. There are so many great garden-friendly objects you can find on a budget at your local thrift store.
