Why You’ll Love This Straw Hat Door Hanger Craft

  • There’s very little fuss involved, but the result looks like something you’d find in a boutique. No need to be an expert crafter—if you can glue, tie, and tuck, you’ve got this.
  • The base (a straw hat) is cheap and easy to find in charity shops, discount stores, or maybe even tucked away in a closet.
  • Plus, it’s easy to theme it however you like—floral for spring, nautical for summer, even spooky for autumn with a few clever tweaks.
  • It’s the kind of project that lets you reuse materials you already have on hand, which makes it both budget-friendly and satisfying.

Different Ways to Adapt This Craft

  • Seasonal Swap-Outs: Hot glue silk flowers and ribbon in spring, then swap them out for mini pumpkins and plaid ribbon in autumn. Velcro or wire attachments make seasonal changes easy.
  • Personalise It: Add a wooden letter, painted name tag, or tiny chalkboard sign with a message—“Welcome,” “Sunshine Lives Here,” or your family name.
  • Farmhouse Style: Use burlap ribbon, cotton stems, and wooden buttons for a neutral-toned look that fits modern country décor.
  • Bright & Bold: Choose neon ribbon, large faux sunflowers, or even small craft birds for a splash of colour that stands out from the street.
  • Beach Vibes: Add seashells, raffia, and a little painted sign that says “Gone to the Beach” for a coastal twist.
