Not only are lemons a staple in refreshing summer cocktails and dishes, but they also add a fun pop of color to any table setting. So why not take things up a notch and use them as the star of your next centerpiece? In this blog post, we’ll show you how to create a stunning tablescape using lemons as your main focal point.
Why You Will Love A Centerpiece With Lemons
There are countless reasons why a centerpiece with a lemon theme is the perfect addition to your table decor (during the Summer or any other time of year). Here are just a few:
- Bright and cheerful: Lemons are known for their vibrant yellow color, making them an instant mood-booster on any table. Incorporating them into your centerpiece will instantly add a touch of cheer to your dining space.
- Versatile: Whether you prefer a more rustic or elegant style, lemons can easily blend in with any aesthetic. They can be paired with different types of flowers, greenery, or even other fruits to create a variety of looks.
- Affordable: No need to break the bank when it comes to creating a stunning centerpiece with lemons. Whether you’re using real lemons or painted lemon wood slices (like us), staying on budget is the way to go.
- DIY-friendly: You don’t have to be a professional florist to create an eye-catching centerpiece with lemons. With just a few simple supplies and some creativity, you can easily put together a beautiful arrangement that will impress your guests.
Can I Use Another Theme Instead of lemons?
If you’re not a fan of lemons or want to mix things up, there are plenty of other summer-themed centerpiece ideas to choose from.
Some alternatives include using fresh fruits like oranges, limes, or strawberries as your main focal point. You could also opt for a floral centerpiece featuring seasonal blooms such as sunflowers, hydrangeas, or daisies. For a more coastal vibe, incorporating seashells and driftwood into your centerpiece can add a touch of beachy charm.
The key is to choose elements that represent the season and add pops of color and texture to your table. Don’t be afraid to get creative and mix and match different elements to create a unique centerpiece that reflects your personal style.

Materials
Instructions
- Trim a paper napkin to fit your box. Remove any extra plies as well.
- If you’re using a wood surface or one with color, make sure it’s smooth and painted a light color before decoupaging.
- Start by applying a thin layer of Mod Podge or decoupage glue and press the napkin in place.
- Place a piece of parchment paper over top of the napkin and take your heated iron and gently rub back and forth. This will help smooth out the napkin.
- Next, paint your wooden slices with yellow paint. Mix the yellow paint with white to make a lighter shade and paint the center of the wood slice.
- Using the back end of your paint brush, dip it in white paint and dab it in the center making a white dot.
- Next, apply criss-cross lines on the wood slice and connect the ends with round edges. Paint a few seeds in the middle.
- Attach your lemon slices to wooden skewers.
- Paint wooden beads and attach them to the bottom corners of the box for feet.
- Add floral foam to the box and add your flowers, greenery and painted lemons.
