We were fortunate to be able to spend this past long weekend (in Canada it was the Victoria Day long weekend, otherwise affectionately known as May 2-4) at the cottage. This serene oasis in the country, on the shores of Lake Huron has been our family get-away from the city for almost three decades.
This particular weekend, as we roamed around the property, we were reminded of where our creative and crafty side comes from: our parents. They were masters of the DIY before it was even cool to do so. Here’s a little gallery of some of their fun creations. We’ve even convinced them to recreate some of them for tutorials for future blog posts.

And with the gorgeous blooms around us, we couldn’t help but take pictures of the flowers to share!
We hope you had a wonderful long weekend!
