Out of all the things that we upcycle here, upcycled shelves was one I had not thought about until recently and yet I absolutely love how this adorable Valentine’s Day themed shelf turned out.
Upcycled Shelves
I was strolling through the thrift store one time, and I was surprised by how many shelves there were. Wood shelves, plastic shelves, and shelves of all types. My mind went wandering of what we could do with shelves.
But upcycled shelves make for great crafts! We used this wood shelf from the thrift store to turn it into an adorable Valentine’s day craft. If you are looking for a Valentine’s Day craft, this may be the best one for you. Honestly, you could use upcycled shelves for crafts for any holiday or any season- they are so much fun!
We have also made a DIY wall shelf with driftwood as well as a hanging rope shelf which you might enjoy!

How to Make an Adorable Upcycled Wood Shelf Idea for Valentines
I shared the tutorial for this thrifted wood shelf on Facebook Live which you can catch here. All of the step by step instructions can be found in the video.
But if you’re wondring how I did the rustic crackle finish on the wood, head over to this post on getting a crackle paint finish with glue.
And as always, if you have any questions at all, please send us a message!
And as for the large bow at the top, we have step by step instructions for making a double bow with ribbon so be sure to check that out too!
One of our favourite parts about upcycled shelves crafts is that two people could each sit down to make one and they could each turn out completely different- in a good way! That is the fun about crafting.
