Although we don’t go all-out for Valentine’s Day, I like to give the kids a small little something to make them feel special. I know that these little painted clay pots stuffed with some of their favorite candies and treats will make them smile. They’d also make really cute gifts for teachers, your BFFs or your sweetheart.
Materials Needed for these Painted Clay Pots Valentine’s Day Crafts
- X3 2” terracotta pots
- Paintbrushes, flat med size and fine tip
- DecoArt Americana Acrylics in Warm White, Royal Fuchsia and Baby Pink
- Galaxy Glitter in Clear Ice Comet, Pink Cosmos, Supernova Berry
- Treats such as Valentines Hershey’s Kisses
How to Make Painted Clay Pots Valentine Crafts:
Paint one of each terracotta pot in Warm White, Royal Fuchsia and Baby Pink. Leave to dry and repeat as needed for full coverage.
Using a fine tip paint brush, paint a large heart in Baby Pink on the Warm White painted pot, a large “X” and “O” in Warm White on the Royal Fascia painted pot, and a set of lips in Royal Fuchsia on the Baby Pink painted pot. Leave to dry and repeat as needed for full coverage.
Apply one thick layer of Galaxy Glitter paint in Pink Cosmos over the painted heart, in Clear Ice Comet over the painted “X” and “O”, and in Supernova Berry over the painted lips. Once dry, apply another 3-4 layers of Galaxy Glitter paint over top for a lot of glitter.
Apply one light layer of Galaxy Glitter paint in Clear Ice Comet over top of the Warm White pot, excluding the heart, one in Supernova Berry over top of the Royal Fuchsia pot, excluding the “X” and “O”, and one in Pink Cosmos over top of the Baby Pink pot, excluding the set of lips. Leave to dry fully.
Fill three small clear bags with Valentine’s Day treats and insert them inside each of the Galaxy Glitter painted pots. Tie with a bow and enjoy.
