DIY Metallic Fall Leaf Wreath

We couldn’t wait to share this DIY project using a classic leaf garland and turning it into an impressive Fall leaf wreath with some beautiful matte metallic paint.

A Gorgeous DIY Fall Door Wreath

We’ve definitely made our share of wreaths on the blog, from a lavender and driftwood window wreath; a pretty floral hoop wreath and a square evergreen wreath… BUT this metallic painted Fall leaf wreath is one of the prettiest we’ve made.

The soft and muted matte metallic paint in champagne, rose gold and ivory pearl make all the difference. The painted leaves look rich and luxurious, almost taking on a dried leaf texture in contrast to the original faux leaf garland. If you can get your hands on the garland at the end of the season, you’ll be able to make this beautiful metallic leaf wreath for a fraction of the cost.

Tips Before You Start

  • Protect your work surface with parchment paper.
  • Apply additional coats of paint as needed to achieve desired coverage.
  • Paint one side of the leaf at a time. Leave paint to dry before turning over and painting the back side.
  • Handle with care after painting, faux leaves become more brittle after paint dries.

This craft does take some time with all the coats of paint and drying times but is well worth it in the end! Now I have a gorgeous Fall leaf wreath to hang and enjoy for the season.
