Want to create some new spring floral arrangements just in time for the beautiful weather coming? Then why not get creative by using pinecones and twiggy branches along with an upcycled conister to make a unique front porch arrangement.

Spring Flower Arrangements without the Flowers!

Want some new spring flower arrangements? Yes, you could go somewhere and buy expensive flowers. But believe it or not, you could actually create your own spring flower arrangements! Not only is this much more cost-effective but there are other benefits too.

For example, sometimes if you buy a floral arrangement there may be certain parts that you don’t prefer. However, if you create your own spring flower arrangements, you can make them any way that you wish.

We repurposed a large tin milk canister that we found in a local thrift store. But if you can’t find one at the thrift store, try the dollar store instead. Also make sure you go on a pinecone hunt before you start this craft!

But if you rather buy the pinecones, we sell these painted daisy pinecones right in our Etsy shop here!

How to Make a DIY Spring Pinecone Flower Arrangement

Open a blank canvas to create a new project in Design Space. Upload your image or use a Cricut design space phrase. Adjust the size and select “make it” in Design Space. Follow the prompts for loading the removable vinyl and cut your phrase.

When the cut is complete, unload the mat from the machine and cut around the lettering with a pair of scissors. Using the weeding tool, peel away the excess vinyl around the lettering and discard.

Cut a piece of transfer tape a bit larger than the size of the image. Peel away the transfer tape backing and place the transfer tape over top of the cut vinyl. Then gently rub the vinyl to help it stick to the transfer tape. Peel away the vinyl backing, leaving just the phrase adhered to the transfer tape.

Position the phrase with the transfer tape on to the center of milk canister and press in place. Slowly and carefully remove the transfer tape leaving the vinyl image on the canister.

Glue the painted pinecones to several different twigs and branches. We used cut branches from bushes we had on our property. Fill the canister with branches, pussy willows and painted pine cones and display on your porch! It would be best to keep this under a covered porch to protect it from water and other extreme weather.

We also upcycled this mini washboard and added it next to the spring arrangement. You can watch the video for that craft on our Facebook page.
