How to Make Christmas Napkin Rings
Gather materials from the materials list above and download the festive napkin rings cut file.
How to Cut Felt Sheets with Cricut Cutting Machine
To begin, cut a piece of transfer tape to 12″x12″ and place on the cutting mat with the sticky side up. Although this is not a madatory step, this will help protect the cutting mat over time.
Place a sheet of felt fabric on the transfer sheet (lined cutting mat) and press. Refer to the instructions in Design Space and follow the steps including inserting the rotary blade and selecting felt, acrylic as the material to cut.
Cut all the different colored pattern pieces for the particular napkin ring you are making.

How to Cut Felt Sheets BY HAND
You can also cut these festive shapes out by hand using a pair of scissors and the printable PDF pattern pieces. Simply place the pattern piece on top of the felt sheet and cut around the solid lines.
ASSEMBLING THE diy CHRISTMAS NAPKIN RINGS
Assemble the napkin ring pieces using fabric adhesive or hot glue: start by layering the felt pieces on to the base shape.
Apply the glue just along the outer edges so that each napkin ring can be stuffed gently with some polyester badding. This will give each shape a 3-dimensional feel.
Once they are stuffed, seal the openings closed to prevent the stuffing from coming out.
Lastly, cut a piece of ribbon about 3″ long and glue the ends to the back of the felt shape to form the “ring”.

Pattern & Size Options
The free pattern can be scaled slightly larger for thick linen napkins or folded fabric. Cardstock gives a crisp finish, while faux leather or felt adds softness and texture.

How to USE THE NAPKIN RINGS IN YOUR HOLIDAY DINNER TABLESCAPE
Lay the napkin rings at each place setting with folded napkins tucked through the ribbon ring. They also look lovely slipped over rolled menus or place cards for a coordinated table. Another option is stacking finished rings with napkins in a small basket near the table so guests can choose their own—this works nicely as a relaxed gift décor idea during family gatherings.

With a reusable free pattern and plenty of room for personal touches, they’re easy to make part of your yearly holiday routine.
