Hand-Lettered DIY Wooden Christmas Ornaments
Do you have a favourite Christmas song? Although there are so many good ones out there, my fave is the Silent Night.
Over on the DIY Passion blog I shared this simple wood slice Christmas ornaments tutorial, inspired by the classic song. You could obviously create these wood slice ornaments using verses from any song. I chose “All is calm, all is bright” to letter across six birch branch slices. We’re happy to share with you the printable template for these wooden Christmas ornaments. These would KAI make lovely gift tags or string them together as I did to create a lovely, rustic Christmas wall hanging.
The pictures don’t really do justice to how the letters twinkle when the sun comes through the window. They almost glow!
More Wooden Christmas Ornaments to Make
I learned the hard way a few years ago to put away our lovely glass ornaments after the kids broke quite a few. Luckily they didn’t hurt themselves! We have a number of shatter-proof ones but I’m trying to limit the amount of plastic I bring into our home. There are so many natural options (the way it used to be!) and different ways to make wooden Christmas ornaments. Here are a few DIY ideas to try for your tree:
- adorable reindeer ornaments from driftwood;
- stenciled glittering wood slice ornaments;
- miniature driftwood tree ornaments;
- birch bark Christmas tree garland (ok, technically not ornaments, but looks sooo cute!);
- easy modern wooden ball ornaments.
So let us know, what is your favourite Christmas carol?
