Painting the Board

Paint your wooden cutting board with the dark grey color and let dry completely.

Paint a generous coat of school glue onto the cutting board and let dry until TACKY. Then brush the white paint over it.

As the paint dries, the crackle finish will form.

Painting the Dragon Fly

Paint the body of your dragon fly with the dark grey paint.

Next, paint the wings while alternating the different colors.

Making the Ribbon Bow

Place the wider pieces of ribbon at the back, forming an X shape. Then, place one piece of ribbon across.

Continue this until you’ve gotten the desired amount of ribbons to form your bow.

Pinch the center of the ribbons together and tie with another piece of ribbon or twine. Hot glue an embellishment into the middle.

Putting the Dragon Fly Sign Together

Hot glue the dragon fly, ribbon bow and any other embellishments onto the cutting board.

Additionally, you can add diamond dust to the body of the dragon fly.

Materials
  

  • Wooden cutting board
  • Dragonfly cutout
  • Paint in dark grey, white, green, violet, yellow, turquoise, teal
  • Paintbrushes
  • Elmers glue
  • Diamond dust
  • Green ribbon or bow
  • Hot glue

Instructions
 

Painting the Board

  • Paint your wooden cutting board the dark grey color and let dry completely.
  • Paint a generous coat of school glue onto the cutting board and let dry until TACKY. Then, brush the white paint over it.

  • Paint the body of your dragon fly with the dark grey paint.
  • Next, paint the wings while alternating the different colors.
