Get ready to be inspired by beautiful Thanksgiving tablescapes, creative rustic DIY ideas and simple solutions for Fall decorating.
When Danyelle over at Life is a Party came up with the idea of an entire week devoted to Thanksgiving tablescapes, we thought the timing couldn’t be more perfect! Not only are we gearing up for our Thanksgiving long weekend here in Canada, but we also just finished styling my home as part of the Fall Home Tour week, where a bunch of Canadian bloggers shared their decked out homes for the season.
If you’re not already in the Fall Spirit, looking through these gorgeous tablescapes will definitely get you excited for Fall! Be sure to check out all the other fall table ideas below.
For many, Fall is a favorite time of year and I am no exception. I love everything about it from the changing leaves to the cooler, fresh nights. In my opinion, the only bad thing about it is that the season is way too short (at least for us in the North Country)! We took inspiration from the great outdoors and brought in several rustic and natural elements to showcase my dining table. Those that know us, wouldn’t expect anything else!
The woodland elements are very versatile and we plan to use them in different areas of the home even after Thanksgiving is over. We put the tablescape together with minimal cost by using materials we found in nature. We’ll be sharing the tutorials for many of these DIYs in the coming weeks. In the meantime, help yourself to these free Thanksgiving place cards for your own fall tablescape:
Ways to use Materials from Nature in your Thanksgiving Tablescape:
Personalize some flat rocks with beautiful hand lettering. How nice would it be to allow your guests to take them home with them? Why didn’t I think of this for my wedding reception?
You can purchase these wooden birdhouses at a dollar store or any craft store to create a rustic centerpiece. Give them some paint and display them in a unique arrangement as part of a birdhouse village.
Place them on top of a tray to move aside when it’s time to serve dinner.
Invest in some neutral colored and simple patterned table linens and dishes. These make for a great base when starting to layer on the fun accessories.
And you can personalize some napkins with stenciled birds or other woodland creatures onto your white linens for an extra pop of color and some added interest.
A beautiful table wouldn’t be complete without some lovely candles to set the mood. We received these gorgeous mercury glass votive candles from Afloral which we previously used in a simple beach theme centerpiece and tablescape.
We hope we were able to show you that you can create inviting Thanksgiving tablescapes with very little cost. Even these guys agree!

Oooh it's so pretty! I love all the votives you used - they really make it feel intimate and cozy. The idea of creating levels with the birch stumps is great. It makes for an interesting centrepiece!

Thank you so much Sarah! Aren't candles the best for creating a warm space? I don't light them much at home as I'm scared the kids will get into them. But it was fun to bust them out for Thanksgiving!

Thank you so much Kim. The rocks are fun (and free!). Once we're done with them indoors, I plan to put them in my flower bed out front to welcome visitors (mainly the squirrels, LOL). Thank you for stopping by!

I love your homemade touches, your hand lettered rocks are just adorable! AND, hello - your lettering is SO good! The buffalo check table cloth is the best, I must try to find one! Your staggered birdhouses on birch logs are just the most wonderful centerpiece too, such a visual treat - I really love changes in height in the center of the beautiful table! Of course the mercury glass votive holders are absolutely the perfect glow at this gorgeous woodland inspired tablescape. Happy Thanksgiving lovely ladies, it was soooo amazing to see you again, Sonja and to meet Jane - you two are the real deal, so beautiful inside and out! <3

You are absolutely the sweetest Laurie. Honestly, meeting such generous and kind souls as you has been one of our favourite parts of starting the blog. I hope we get to meet in real life again soon and have a bit more time to sit together next time. We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. -Jane
