Creative Gift Wrapping with Burlap and Felt Flowers
Since making our own beautiful felt flowers, we’ve been finding creative ways to display them. So far, we’ve added them to a girl’s headband, made this upcycled photo frame display as well as this home sweet home welcome sign. I just can’t get enough of these delicate florals! You can find our whole collection of felt flower patterns in our shop.
With the holidays just around the corner, we thought it would be the perfect time to use our pretty felt flowers as part of some fancy gift wrapping. Using simple and inexpensive kraft paper and burlap for the packaging, the colorful felt flowers really pop on top!

How to Adorn Gifts with Felt Flowers:
Gathering the Flowers
To make your own felt flowers, refer to the patterns and template guides in our Etsy shop. We used felt sheets from Benzie Designs, they have so many gorgeous colors to choose from!
For alternatives to felt flowers, consider faux florals, dried flowers or sola wood flowers.
Wrapping Presents
For a more eco- and budget-friendly option to wrapping paper, you can use brown kraft paper or even newspaper.
To start, wrap your gift boxes in brown paper, the same as you would with any gift wrap.
Next, cut a piece of burlap and wrap it around the package. It doesn’t have to be perfect, just need enough to wrap around the box. The burlap adds a soft, natural texture to your wrapping.
Wrap and tie a long piece of twine around the burlap to hold in place.
Using a hot glue gun with clear glue sticks, apply a small dab of glue to the back side of the felt flower. Press the flower onto the wrapped gift and hold in place until the glue sets.
Do the same for other gifts, adding additional felt flowers for larger sized packages. Clusters of three coordinating flowers work really well.
Alternatively, you can also attach a broach pin to the back side of each felt flower for the receiver to use as an accessory afterwards!
I just love the contrasting blue and pink flowers against the brown paper in this creative gift wrapping idea.
