How to Make Farmhouse Decor with Dollar Tree Heart
I shared how I made this farmhouse decor on a Facebook live which you can catch here. But if you prefer the photo tutorial, continue reading below.
Distressing the Heart Sign
Apply a thin layer of Vaseline on the areas of the heart sign where you want the distressing to occur. You can add it to the edges, corners or throughout the entire heart.
Apply a top coat of black paint over the entire heart and let dry.
Add another layer of Vaseline over the black paint.
Next, paint over the black paint with teal and let dry.
Add more Vaseline over the teal paint.
Add a final coat of white paint.
Take a paper towel or clean cloth and start wiping off the spots where the Vaseline was used. This will remove the paint and reveal the colors underneath.
Adding Chalk Couture Stencil
Once dry place the Chalky Couture stencil onto the heart and press gently down. Next, take your paste and spread it over the stencil.
Remove the stencil and let dry.
To finish, make a burlap ribbon and attach to the sign.
A Blend Of Style and Individuality
The versatility of farmhouse decor allows for endless customization, making it easy to reflect your unique tastes and preferences. Remember, it’s not about spending a fortune but creating a welcoming, stylish environment that feels like home. So, gather your materials, let your imagination take the lead, and start crafting your own beautiful farmhouse accents. We’re confident you’ll love the charming and budget-friendly results!
