How to Make Personalized Trinket Trays with xTool P2
Open Creative Space and select a new project. Insert the trinket tray SVG file onto the canvas.
Personalize the trinket tray as desired with text or images of your choosing.
If you wish to engrave with a personalized birth flower design like we have, go to Creative Fabrica and download the birth flower SVG files.
Upload the flower design from the birth month you wish to use. Reduce the size to approx. 2.75”. To personalize the design further, delete the name of the month and insert a text box to type out a name instead.

Change the font to “xx” and then reduce the size of the name accordingly to fit beside the flower design. Ensure the letters are WELDED together before engraving.
Repeat for the other birth flowers you wish to use.

Group the name with the flower together and then space the others apart evenly. Highlight all and group together.

Position them on top of the rectangular shaped trinket tray shape and center them horizontally and vertically using the align tool.

Set the material type to 6mm basswood and use your preferred cut and engrave settings.

Insert the material into the xTool P2 and refresh your screen.
Position the design onto the surface and proceed to cutting and follow the prompts on the screen.

Assembling the DIY Trinket Tray
Once cutting and engraving is complete, remove from the machine. Use a damp paper towel to wipe away the excess dust and scorching marks.

With a soft paintbrush, apply a coat of wood stain or diluted brown acrylic paint. Leave it to dry and repeat if darker stain is desired.

Once dry, apply a coat of Mod Podge to seal the surface.

Glue the top layer to the base layer with wood glue. Press together until glue is dry.

A Professional-Quality Personalized Item
These small but meaningful trinket trays serve as daily reminders of special connections and memories while keeping treasured items organized and accessible. As you experiment with different designs, materials, and techniques, you’ll discover that the most valuable aspect of this project isn’t just the finished tray itself—it’s the joy of creating something truly unique that carries personal significance for years to come.
