50 Fun Driftwood Crafts to Make this Summer
One of our favourite summer activities is collecting driftwood at the beach of our family cottage on Lake Huron, Ontario. It’s fun to imagine where these nature-made pieces started from, how far they traveled and how unique each little branch is. We worried early on that we’d quickly run out of ideas for driftwood crafts, but they just keep on coming! Here you’ll find over a dozen reasons to collect some beach wood this summer.

We also thought it would be a fun opportunity to highlight some of our favourite driftwood crafts to make here on Sustain My Craft Habit. Scan through them all and let us know which is your fave in the comments below! And if you’re wondering where to buy driftwood for crafts, check out our own Etsy shop where we’re happy to fulfill custom driftwood orders.

Love every one of these ideas and have even made the driftwood hooks myself Love driftwood and projects, thanks for the ideas I have a whole pile of driftwood!
Great ideas. Love all of them.
PS those anvil shaped hooks are called boat cleats.
Thanks, Lisa! We love the beach and lake but are not much for boating 😀
My favourite pastime is collecting pebbles, sea glass and driftwood, so this is awesome
Same here! Is there anything better than walking the beach and collecting driftwood, sea glass and pebbles?!
Hi! I’m actually working on the sunburst mirror and have collected and bleached my driftwood. I would like to know, most sites say you need to leave it out in the sun to dry for at least one week. I live in a very sunny dry climate where the temps this week will be over 100 each day, 108 tomorrow ????. Do I have to go a full week or will a couple days suffice? I just laid them out half an hour ago and they’re already drying out really nicely.
Hi Gina. Yes, if it’s so hot a couple of days will be fine! Just make sure to move them around so the underside dries completely as well.
Enjoy you mirror!
Jane
